Arylesterase/Paraoxonase
Assay Kit
The Arylesterase/Paraoxonase
Assay kit provides a simple, reproducible method of quantifying the
activity of serum arylesterase/paraoxonase (PON). This enzyme catalyzes
the hydrolysis of organophosphates and aromatic carboxylic acid esters
of fatty acids. PON has been shown to be closely associated with HDL,
may be a potent inhibitor of LDL oxidation, and may have a peroxidative
role due to its active hydrolysis of H2O2.

Total
Glutathione Peroxidase Assay Kit
The Total Glutathione Peroxidase Assay Kit provides an indirect
method of quantifying the activity of total glutathione peroxidase (GPx)
in a large number of biological specimens including plasma, WRBC,
tissues and yeast. This antioxidant enzyme catalyzes the reduction
of hydrogen peroxide and hydroperoxides formed from fatty acids, thereby
effectively removing toxic peroxides from living cells and protecting
them from potential damage by free radicals. The Kit provides a stable
and highly reproducible method of quantitating total glutathione
peroxidase.

assay of oxidative stress. The OXI-TEK (TBARS) is a calibrated kit
designed for the measurement of oxidative stress in biological samples.
This assay may be used for testing antioxidants and drugs.

DNA Isolation Kit
The DNA Isolation Kit provides a technique for isolation of genomic DNA
from whole blood, cultured cells and tissues. This procedure provides a
rapid method for non-toxic extractions, yielding large quantities of
genomic DNA of high purity with minimum DNA damage. Extracted DNA is
suitable for several applications including oxidative DNA damage,
amplification, restriction enzyme digestion, sequencing, Southern blot
analysis and other DNA analysis procedures. (The development of
